Book, Lyrics and Music by Matthew Hardy
Arranged and Orchestrated by Andrew Fox Additional Arrangements and Orchestrations by Andy Roninson Based on the life of famed concert pianist, composer and statesman Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Virtuoso was developed as part of a contest initiated by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute. Virtuoso was selected as a finalist and a 15 minute presentation was commissioned for a performance at Joe's Pub in New York City. Below is a video of the Joe's Pub presentation. (Be sure to check out my favorite song "Too Many Helens" that begins at the 8:30 mark. In November of 2018 Virtuoso was further developed at the University of New Orleans culminating in a presentation of the first Act at the Contemporary Arts Center. A video with highlights from the first Act coming soon. You can watch a video of rehearsals at the Facebook Page. Virtuoso will have its world premiere in Poznan, Poland in the Spring of 2020. The Adam Mickiewicz Institute is interested in partnering with a US theater or university for its American debut. |
