Based on the life of famed concert pianist, composer and statesman Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Virtuoso was developed as part of a contest initiated by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute. Virtuoso was selected as a finalist and a 15 minute presentation was commissioned for a performance at Joe's Pub in New York City. Below is a video of the Joe's Pub presentation. (Be sure to check out my favorite song "Too Many Helens" that begins at the 8:30 mark.
In November of 2018 Virtuoso was further developed at the University of New Orleans culminating in a presentation of the first Act at the Contemporary Arts Center. A video with highlights from the first Act coming soon. You can watch a video of rehearsals at the Facebook Page.
Virtuoso will have its world premiere in Poznan, Poland in the Spring of 2020. The Adam Mickiewicz Institute is interested in partnering with a US theater or university for its American debut.
